At first, they are merely two strong-willed, clashing characters at the top of Quistis' class. But, as the game progresses, they go from fighting each other for their training to fighting over good vs. evil.
Since the days at Edea's orphanage with all the other characters, Seifer has been a jerk. His only friends throughout his whole life are Raijin and Fujin, whom he eventually loses. He's renamed Squall "Puberty Boy" and Zell "Chicken-Wuss" without realizing that he himself has the biggest problems of all. When you go to Dollet for your SeeD examination, Seifer is your squad leader who has taken and failed the test several times. He fails once again, because, as usual, he refuses to follow orders in hopes of becoming a hero. Looks like he failed not only the examination but his attempt to become a hero, too. But Seifer's problems are far deeper than just being an ignorant bully. In time, he becomes the Sorceress' knight, and fights in favor of Ultimecia's evil plans until the end. He goes on to the point where Raijin and Fujin, who have been excessively loyal to him, give up and turn against him. |
